The Lucas Lawn Care Basic program consists of four applications per year. During every visit, the specially trained and licensed applicator will inspect for pests (surface and sub-surface insects), diseases, weeds, weed grasses, animal damage, mower damage (not mowing often enough, mowing wet grass, mowing too fast, mowing too short, or mowing with a dull blade), overwatering, not watering enough, thinning turf caused by excessive shade, and heavy wear from foot traffic. The applicator is prepared to provide treatment specific to your lawn. The Basic Lawn Care treatments follow this pattern:

The EARLY SPRING TREATMENT is based on the application of phosphorous free fertilizer. Then, if indicated (and it often is), the application will also treat your lawn with a chemical to discourage the pre-emergent forms of crabgrass and certain other weeds.

The LATE SPRING TREATMENT also begins with fertilization, pre-emergents for crabgrass and certain other weeds, and then treats (as needed) for broadleaf weeds, surface insects (frequently a problem), and grub control (if added to your services).

The SUMMER TREATMENT includes fertilization, and adds surface insect or grub control as needed.

The FALL TREATMENT begins with fertilization and includes weed control (if needed). This fertilization is especially important to provide the lawn with extra nutrients before it goes dormant for the winter.
